I have been a people watcher for as long as I can remember. Every time I was in an airport I would watch all the families and children finding creative ways to pass the time. The business people were usually rushing around the terminals in all directions. I would wonder what their story was. Where were they going? Where had they been? Getting an Associates Degree in Commercial Photography has allowed me to continue my love of people watching in a special way.

     Now that I am a professional photographer, I strive to tell the stories of my subjects. I don’t just ask them to sit and smile for the camera - I want to capture a little bit of their life story and who they are. I especially enjoy photographing children. I have a baby girl of my own, and as her mother I have watched her grow, learn, and test her boundaries. She is high spirited and full of energy. I can say the pictures of Samantha that I love the most are the ones which show her emotions. Other favorites are the pictures that show her playful relationship with her dad.

     As I look at the photographs from the time she came into this world my heart just melts. I can’t believe how quickly she changed. I would not want any mother to miss out on having those precious moments recorded in a photograph. You never get that time back. This is why I have opened Erin Miller Photography in Prineville: to share my passion of photographing people, and to capture our families as they really are.
